Global Health Products Regulatory Science Forum 2026

The global health products landscape is undergoing unprecedented transformation. Advances in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, precision medicine, genomics, cell and gene therapies, advanced diagnostics, digital technologies, innovative food systems, and next-generation manufacturing are reshaping how health products are discovered, developed, regulated, manufactured, and delivered to society.

The global pharmaceutical market alone exceeded USD 1.7 trillion in 2025 and continues to grow, driven by aging populations, increasing healthcare demand, scientific breakthroughs, and expanding access to healthcare worldwide. At the same time, global markets for medical devices, biologics, vaccines, functional foods, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, and digital health products are expanding rapidly, creating new opportunities as well as new regulatory challenges.

Innovation is accelerating faster than ever before. However, innovation alone does not guarantee public benefit. For innovative products to reach society safely and effectively, they must be supported by robust regulatory systems capable of ensuring safety, quality, efficacy, performance, transparency, and public trust.

Around the world, regulatory authorities are facing increasingly complex challenges:

These challenges cannot be addressed by regulators alone. Scientific discoveries originate in academia. Innovation and commercialization are driven by business and industry. Governments and regulatory authorities provide policy direction, oversight, and public assurance. The future of trusted health products therefore depends on effective collaboration among Academia, Business, and Government (ABG).

Indonesia is uniquely positioned to contribute to this global agenda. As the fourth most populous country in the world and the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia represents one of the world's most important emerging health product markets. The country is strengthening its regulatory capacity, expanding domestic manufacturing capabilities, promoting research and innovation, and increasing participation in international regulatory cooperation.

Against this backdrop, the Global Health Products Regulatory Science Forum 2026 (GHPRS Forum 2026) is established as a premier international platform to advance regulatory science, strengthen future regulatory systems, promote trusted innovation, and foster collaboration among Academia, Business, and Government. The Forum aims to position Bali and Indonesia as a global convening hub for regulatory science, health product innovation, and international cooperation.
